Absolutely amazing flight model and physics engine for a console game. Here is my (not so) quick rundown of the game: Gameplay: (10). It's why I don't review Barbie Horse Grooming Simulator. Why even review the game if you hate the style of game. A magazine giving this game a 3/10 just shows ignorance. The game is a SIMULATION, that is the whole point. I get so frustrated when I read reviews that mark the game down for being too "hard". I feel with some of the negative reviews out there, I had to help shed some positive light on this amazing game. While Birds of Steel may not be the best available historical flight sim, it is the most accessible to players of any skill level.I agree with MickT. Konami offers two downloadable content packs for purchase, each offering new planes, maps and combat operations. Arcade mode lets you dogfight with impunity, while realistic and simulator modes force you to actually fly the plane-climbing without stalling, retaining control in abrupt turns and aiming by sight alone, all while monitoring your fuel and ammunition.Īs you progress in your missions, you’ll unlock such extras as historical paint jobs, kill markings, nose art and roundels. Each handles realistically, though you can adjust the difficulty setting. The developers have painstakingly rendered each plane down to the cockpit controls. It centers on 20 historical operations and hundreds of missions over 16 locations, including Wake Island and Pearl Harbor.
